About Trendstone®

Echelon’s Trenwyth Trendstone ground face CMU blocks are pre-finished, integrally colored concrete blocks with one or more faces ground to expose the variegated colors of the natural aggregates. Trendstone goes beyond standard ground face concrete block by applying a clear satin gloss acrylic to the exposed face of each concrete block to accentuate the natural beauty of the aggregates and to provide moisture resistance. Available in dozens of colors that can be matched or contrasted with other Trenwyth products, Trendstone ground face masonry blocks provide durability and the vibrant stone look needed to bring your project to life.

Modern Masonry: Fire Protection and Enhanced Performance

CEU Credits: 1 LU | HSW

The recent string of large construction fires across the US has cost billions of dollars in damages to job sites and nearby structures. In this course, learn the root cause of these blazes and how sound design, paired with the use of masonry, can offer fire resistance both during the construction phase and over the life of the building.

After completing this course, attendees will be able to:
Discuss the factors involved in the recent rash of construction fires around the nation.
Explain masonry’s ability to resist fires and assure safe buildings both during the construction phase and after completion.
Identify the ways in which masonry can resist moisture intrusion and protect buildings from moisture damage over the life of the building.
Describe three masonry systems that have been upgraded to meet codes, resist fires, and boost building performance and energy efficiency.

This course is applicable to all masonry product lines.

IECC Energy Review and Masonry Compliance Options (LU/HSW)

CEU Credits: 1 LU | HSW

The International Energy Construction Code is leading the charge for increasingly stringent energy code requirements across the nation, requiring ongoing adaptation of design strategies.

This course reviews exterior envelope R-Value requirements and masonry wall compliance options in regards to the latest IECC code as well as several competitive building materials. We will review evolving exterior wall R-value requirements, explore the definition and impact of continuous insulation (CI), and present design opportunities for innovative wall systems that meet and exceed IECC performance standards.

After completing this course, attendees will be able to:
Understand IECC requirements for exterior walls.
Describe the principles behind continuous insulation (CI).
Develop effective specifications that incorporate continuous insulation into masonry systems.
Understand the benefits and limitations of “new” & “old” wall systems.
Effectively apply this knowledge to future projects in order to meet increasingly aggressive energy performance goals.

This course is applicable to all masonry product lines, especially for InsulTech and EnduraMax
