Anne Cox Chambers Adoption Center of Atlanta Humane Society – Astra-Glaze SW+

Anne Cox Chambers Adoption Center Built with Astra-Glaze SW+

In a short four-month window, Rogers Construction not only completed an adaptive reuse project for the Atlanta Humane Society, they won first place accolades in the 2012 Build Georgia Awards for their efforts. With the help of a vibrant combination of Trenwyth® Astra-Glaze-SW+®, a former automobile dealership north of Atlanta was renovated and adapted into a cheery pet adoption center, prepared to house up to 75 cats, 56 dogs, and 28 puppies.

The 30,395 square foot facility utilized the existing building's high-volume ceilings to eliminate the need for secondary ceilings, thereby improving air circulation for the animals. Acoustical panels were installed to control noise. And, the building's open layout was compartmentalized with a combination of modern glass enclosures for the cats and colorful concrete masonry unit enclosures for the dogs and puppies.
