Echelon Showcases Benefits of System Approach at January Trade Shows

With an impressive display constructed using over a dozen Echelon™ Masonry and Belgard® hardscape products, the Oldcastle® family of brands showcased cost-saving technologies and business-building programs to the design/build community at the 2017 NAHB International Builders’ Show held in Orlando, Florida, on Jan. 10-12, 2017.

The walkthrough display included an outdoor kitchen and living room to demonstrate the design flexibility and construction efficiency of utilizing Oldcastle as a single-source vendor with multiple architectural building product lines. Walls constructed with various Echelon lightweight veneers from the Artisan Masonry Veneers® collection served as a backdrop to outdoor living space, emulating a home’s exterior wall. The outdoor living space itself featured the Tandem® Modular Grid wall system, Mirage® Porcelain Pavers, and a Bordeaux fireplace and grill from the Belgard Elements Collection of modular outdoor kitchen and fireplace units.

To conclude the first evening of the show, Belgard and Echelon hosted a happy-hour event during the final two hours, which was well-attended. Throughout the tradeshow, the booth garnered a lot of attention from attendees, many of whom were interested in learning more about the Oldcastle Builder Partnership Program. The design/build community was particularly interested in learning more about the newest line of lightweight veneers, Westpeak™ Stone Thin Veneers, which was used to construct the booth’s seat wall.

World of Concrete Tradeshow
 

The Echelon Masonry booth at the World of Concrete tradeshow, held in Las Vegas on Jan. 17-20, showcased the benefits of using a system approach to masonry construction through Echelon’s national network and numerous integrated product lines. The booth featured stuccos and pre-blended mortars from Amerimix®, full-depth and lightweight lines of Artisan Masonry Veneers®, and the innovative InsulTech™ Insulated Concrete Masony System (ICMS)—which incorporates structural masonry, thermal protection, and architectural masonry in a single unit. The booth also included a demonstration of the effectiveness of the RainBloc GP® admixture, which can be integrated into both masonry block and mortar to provide lasting protection against mold and efflorescence.

Team members from across the U.S. came together to educate the construction industry about the integration of the Amerimix product lines under the Echelon umbrella and how pre-blended mortar is a critical component in modern wall system design. Echelon also illustrated how using multiple systems in tandem—such as InsulTech ICMS and water-repellent mortar with RainBloc GP®—can offer both a dynamic thermal and water resistance upgrades to a block wall that comes from a single Echelon representative, versus multiple vendors.
